Lynn isn't quite sure who she is, but
she's pretty sure of what she wants to be. A warrior woman. A
bad-ass mamajama.
Perhaps an earth goddess extraordinaire. She spends her days
abusing keyboards
and screaming at computer screens while she waits for her
cult following
to finally show up.
She changes her mind more often than extras in rap videos change thongs.

Black Women in Comics: Pt. 3?

Leilani & Margarita Hickerson: Illustrators as well as sisters, Leilani amd Margarita Hickerson are currently hard at work on their upcoming original comic series for children titled My Hafu. The work of the Hickerson sisters also appears in the Out of Sequence: Underrepresented Voices in American Comics exhibition!

Carol Burrell: Carol Burrell is currently employed as a Senior Editor for Graphic Universe, an imprint of Lerner Publishing. In her spare time, Burrell continues to work diligently on her wonderful webcomic SPQR Blues.

Hey y'all!
As you can see, I've been trying to put together a list of all the black women currently working in comics. However, Google can only do so much! So, I'm asking for your help. If you know a black woman who is currently working on a comic, webcomic or graphic novel as a writer, artist, colorist, inker or editor, please let me know via email or right here in this thread! Thanks!
PS: You know what has been really depressing for me during this search? Finding the women who simply walked away from comics. Webcomics left unfinished. Blogs abandoned. What made them stop? A lack of funds? Did real life get in the way? Did they grow disappointed with the industry? I don't know.
